Recommended: Yes, it is my favorite track day tire. Final Thoughts: Very predictable tire which got faster as they wore and were best just before cording. This tire allows the car to move around quite a bit without getting overly greasy.

Recommended: Yes, but would like to try other options. Final Thoughts: Very predictable track tire. Excellent level of grip, very consistent for each session. Like many R-compound tires the lap times will change throughout the life of the tire, but overall very communicative tire with consistent performance.

Recommended: Yes, it is my favorite track day tire. Final Thoughts: Not the grippiest tire in the world, but the best track tire for LEARNING how to drive. The super grippy tires like Hoosiers don't alloy you to learn car control. RA1's like to slide a bit and don't have that "hand of God" grip. They brake away gradually. You feel the slip, they dance, and you learn to drive the car on the edge, which makes you a better driver. In Spec Miata, the Toyos (RRs and RA1's) in NASA demand a different driving style than the Hoosiers in SCCA (where you just throw it in a corner and let it stick). More finesse is necessary. In my opinion, there is no better DE tire. Start on street tires, advance to Toyos. Learn to drive. Hoosiers are for ultimate lap times, which DO NOT MATTER in DE.

Recommended: Yes, but would like to try other options. Final Thoughts: Hands down these are better than the Yokahama s drive I had in the same size. Wet traction was more predictable, lateral stability was similar, run more negative camber with the r888! You will be glad you did. Compared to the hankook ventus v12 evo I have run, the hankook is a good street performance tire, not very stiff lateraly, wet traction is ok but falls off fast in hard cornering, dry cornering falls off fast and they don't seem to like more than 1/2 degree negative camber on the front. Pressure growth is unreal once they get hot.

Recommended: Yes, but would like to try other options. Final Thoughts: Very progressive tire. Do not suddenly break away when going over the limit of grip. They do provide a small audible warning, which is nice to have in addition to the feeling through the driver seat. They do heat cycle out much faster than the tread lasts. I used to be able to push about 1.6G in the corners and after about 30 heat cycles I can get 1.2-1.3G. Not exactly a big issue for HPDE, but a good note for competition driving.

Recommended: Yes, it is my favorite track day tire. Final Thoughts: Excellent performance. I felt it to be a perfect match for the E90/92 M3 in a square setup. Tremendous grip, more so than the Nitto NT01, and yet still predictable and communicative at the limit. NOT for rain use. Only lasts about half as long as the Nitto NT01.

Recommended: Yes, but would like to try other options. Final Thoughts: Great performance right out on track. Doesn't need any break in, consistent performance through 30 heat cycles, then characteristic changes to a more slippery grip level which works better for some. Will last into the 50-60 heat cycle range before cording depending on alignment and track.
